ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke 2019 TV-MA 1h 14m Music & Concert Documentaries While Sam Cooke rose to stardom as a soul singer, his outspoken views on civil rights drew attention that may have contributed to his death at age 33. The Netflix film Remastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke shows an iconic scene in which Sam and Malcolm had a get-together with Jim Brown (who was a hero in Ohio as the star of the Cleveland. Though, it is called The Two Killings of Sam Cooke. I guess you could argue for it—but I thought it was a bit much personally. Apart from the very beginning that made me feel a bit odd, the documentary is a great depiction of a legendary human being. Cooke died earlier however, in nineteen-sixty-four. His story differs from the others as there has always been a question hanging over his passing, as to how he actually died and even why. The latest in the intriguing Netflix series, ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke, tackles these questions and tries to dig for those answers.

Premise[edit]
On December 11, 1964, at the age of 33, Cooke was shot and killed by Bertha Franklin, the manager of the Hacienda Motel in Los Angeles, California. ReMastered: The Two Killings of Sam Cooke explores the mystery behind the murder through interviews with family, friends, journalists and academics as well as archival footage.[4]
